To me, it looks like he is battling against airstream - although possibly neither. It may have been filmed with a high speed camera (and the person moving at normal speed) then slowed down so that the movments look less natural or 'possible'.
ReplyDeleteAs for the trail effects, my suggestion would be particles, either 2d or 3d, where the particle colour is decided upon emission and based on the colour of the person at the point it emits... at least that's what I think anyway!
